Bringing people together from all over Europe and connecting them through play, entertainment and information – is the aim of this unusual championship, hosted this year by Verkehrsbetriebe Leipzig (LVB). In addition, the TRAM-EM wants to present local public transport as a modern and interesting service.
The European championship supports the exchange of experience between drivers and managers and has a promotional effect – regionally and throughout Europe. The TRAM-EM promotes cultural exchange in Europe and peaceful competition for future-oriented local public transport.
How does it work?
Any public transport operator from Europe can participate in the championships and register a team. A team consists of a male or female driver and a team coach.
The TRAM European Championships will take place in Leipzig on 21 May 2022. Then Leipzig will not only celebrate 150 years of trams in the trade fair city, but also a festival of diversity, open to all. « We are also pleased to be celebrating 50 years of vocational training at LVB, » says Katrin Lukas, Managing Director Human Resources and Driving Services and Labour Director of Leipziger Verkehrsbetriebe. This vocational training takes place at the ENNE network partner Leipziger Ausbildungsbetriebe (LAB).
